On 10-11 September 2019 the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF), supported by FORCLIME, conducted a training on using the online planning system, which was developed by the National Planning Agency (Bappenas) in Jakarta. The online planning system, called Krisna, is a software developed by Bappenas for all ministries and government bodies to support their preparation of the five years planning. The training was attended by 80 participants, representing the planning department of the ministry’s directorate generals. The resource person for the training was the Director for System and Development Funding Procedure from Bappenas.
During the meeting FORCLIME expressed its commitment to support the MoEF strategic plan (Renstra) development processes. In addition, FORCLIME will also support the dissemination of the final Renstra 2020-2024 when it has been issued by the minister’s decree.

The Kapuas Hulu civil society forum together with FORCLIME conducted a focus group discussion on customary land management on 13 September 2019 in Putussibau, Kapuas Hulu district, West Kalimantan. The objective of the FGD was to share knowledge and experiences in managing customary land by the traditional community. The goal of the meeting was also to develop similar perspectives in regard to roles and functions of CSOs in supporting the development in Kapuas Hulu. Representatives of the regional development agency (Bappeda), the Environmental Service, the forest management unit (KPH Kapuas Hulu), the Betung Kerihun Danau Sentarum National Park and local NGOs attended the meeting. Resource persons in the FGD were the Sungai Utik head of management of customary land, who used to be the head of the village, and the Rantau Kalis village head.
The follow-up of the meeting will be accelerating the process of defining the customary land, in addition to preparing multi-stakeholder approaches which mainstream economic sustainable development based on available local wisdom.

Aiming to promote non-timber forest products, tourism and cultural attractions, the Menua Sadap Village Forest Management Board (LPHD Menua Sadap) with the Danau Sentarum Betung Kerihun National Park participated in the Non Timber Forest Products Carnival 2019 in Kuching Serawak, Malaysia on 14 - 20 August, 2019. During the event, LPHD Menua Sadap collaborated with the Danau Sentarum Betung Kerihun National Park, supported by GIZ. Additionally Danau Sentarum Betung Kerihun Kapuas Hulu Biosphere Reserve was presented at the event.
