The KPH Kapuas Hulu Utara together with FORCLIME conducted a training on Forest Inventory on 08-10. November in Mataso, West Kalimantan. The training aims to provide hands-on knowledge and practical skills regarding to the recent forest inventory regulations. This event was attended by 7 participants representing the Forest Management Units (KPH), the District Programme Management Unit (DPMU) and the Institution for Village Forest Management (LPHD). The three-day training was facilitated by trainers from BPKH (Province Technical Unit for Forest Planning), the Directorate of Inventory and Forest Resources Monitoring (Ministry of Environmental and Forestry) and PUSDIKLAT (Training Centre for Environment and Forestry) in cooperation with FORCLIME.
As main results of the training the participants were familiarized with forest inventory tools and techniques as well as implemented 2 inventory clusters with 10 plots in the community forest of Banua Ujung, District Kapuas Hulu.

With the aim to accelerate social forestry programs in West Kalimantan, the Forestry Service Office of West Kalimantan conducted a two-day workshop on Consolidating Social Forestry Working Group on 9-10 November 2017 in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, which was combined with the declaration of a Tree Planting Movement. Consolidation is carried out to integrate social forestry programmes into forest management unit (KPH) plan. The workshop was attended by 157 participants representing the provincial government, technical unit of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, KPH, NGOs and newly awarded social forestry license community groups.
On his speech, the Governor reminds the community groups - newly awarded with social forestry licenses - to collaborate with KPHs in managing their forest area.
Outputs from the workshop include a revised decree on the social forestry working group and a draft of the Social Forestry Action Plan.

The West Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Service together with FORCLIME conducted a training on the Preparation of Budget Expenditure and Accountability Documents of the Provincial Forestry Service on 6-8 November 2017 in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. The training aims to disseminate the regulations on the preparation of budget expenditure and accountability documents in order to improve transparency on financial administration for forest management. This event was attended by 60 participants representing the Forest Management Units (KPH) and other technical implementation units of the West Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Service. The three-day training was facilitated by trainers from Bappeda (regional planning agency), the Regional Finance and Revenue Board, the Provincial Inspectorate and the West Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Service.
The Head of West Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Service expects that after the training all planning documents are well prepared in accordance with the prevailing rules and regulations.
