Directorate of KPHL collaborated with FORCLIME held an FGD workshop on developing Perdirjen (The Directorate General Regulation) on the guideline and indicative map of the protected forest resources potential in Bogor on 29 October 2019. There were 30 participants from KLHK and academicians. The aim of the workshop developed draft guideline which will be used by the unit level (Forest Management Unit/KPH) in conducting planning for future utilization in protected forests.
The Resource Persons emphasized the importance of the guidelines as providing direction for the use of protected forests to the community so that the common goals are achieved, illustrates the potential contained in protected forests, investment promotion tools, the direction of infrastructure connectivity development and a tool for monitoring and evaluating potential engagement. The resource persons also gave their assessment on the latest draft of the regulation.
FORCLIME will support further meetings and workshops on finalizing the draft Perdirjen.

Aiming to support the development of forest planning training, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) through the Directorate of Inventory and Monitoring of Forest Resources (IPSDH) in collaboration with the Environmental and Forestry Education and Training Center (BD LHK) Samarinda and FORCLIME conducted a training on Forest Inventory on 4-8 November 2019 in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. Through this training the knowledge and skills of the participants in designing and carrying out forest inventory activities will increased. The training was attended by 20 participants representing Lecturers (widyaiswara) of BD LHK Samarinda, BD LHK Makassar, BD LHK Bogor; the planning staff of the Forest Management Units (KPH) of Nunukan, Tana Tidung and Berau Barat; the MoEF’s technical unit in Samarinda (BPKH Unit IV and the Samboja Natural Resource and Conservation Technology R&D Center), and Manager of the Loa Haur Special Purpose Forest (KHDTK).
As part of the training, participants also conducted fieldwork in two forest inventory plots in the KHDTK Loa Haur. The results are then analysed to calculate the estimated potency of the stands. The analized data will be used for preparing of the Long-Term Management Plan of the KHDTK Loa Haur.

As a continuation of FORCLIME's support for the Tepian Buah Village Forestry Partnership in the Management of Nature Tourism and Environmental Services of Tembalang Waterfall after obtaining a legal basis, FORCLIME conducted a study tour for Community of Tepian Buah to several location of Social Forestry in the FMU Yogyakarta, which also developed ecotourism and environmental services such as the Tourism area Kalibiru (Kulon Progo), Mangunan Tourism area (Bantul) and Puthuk Setumbu Tourism Area (Magelang). The visit was held on 29 October - 1 November 2019. During the visit, participants received information about: history and development of forest management challenges faced (including area management, institutional and human resource management as well as business management); creating an opportunity for the surrounding community (in generating income); benefits for managers and surrounding communities, etc.
This visit aims to increase the capacity of nature tourism management and environmental services Tembalang Waterfall Kampung Tepian Buah-Berau Regency. A total of 12 people, representing the West Berau KPH, GIZ-FORCLIME, the Tepian Buah Village Government, Pokdarwis Allo Malau (Berau District Tepian Buah community) attended this visit.
