With the aim of managing the village forest as a tourist destination, the Menua Sadap Village Forest Management Board (LPHD) in West Kalimantan is preparing ecotourism activities. The LPHD submitted a funding assistance proposal for facilities needed for ecotourism, the proposal was submitted to the technical unit of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, namely the Social Forestry and Environmental Partnership (BPSKL). The submitted proposal was verified by BPSKL in March 2019 to ensure that the proposed facilities are required. In early June 2019, the LPHD received a fund of IDR45,500,000 to purchase equipment, such as: boat engines, boats, water tanks, life jackets, spring beds and tents. The LPHD and the community are motivated by the assistance given and eager to develop ecotourism in the village forest.
FORCLIME facilitates the process of developing the proposal, supporting LPHD to increase their independence and raise awareness about funding sources.
