The Provincial Forest Service of Central Sulawesi conducted a coaching session for Forest Management Units (Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan - KPH) of Central Sulawesi, which are located in the buffer zone of Lore Lindu Biosphere Reserve, on 18 September in Palu, Central Sulawesi. The event aims to improve the business plan of four KPHs (Kulawi, Banawa Lalundu, Dolago Tanggunung, Sintuwu Maroso) which previously have been developed through a series of four workshops in July to September. The previous workshops were organized by the Provincial Forestry Service and supported by the University of Tadulako, Central Sulawesi and FORCLIME.

During the event, four KPHs presented their business plan on the development of pine resin (Kulawi), mineral water processing (Banawa Lalundu), patchouli oil (Dolago Tanggunung) and rattan processing (Sintuwu Maroso). In addition, the Natural Resource Management Division of Sigi District presented its business plan on bamboo plantations and bamboo processing.

The Head of the Provincial Forestry Service, Mr Nahardi, claimed  the main objective of KPH development is to contribute to the livelihood of forest dwellers and enhance economic growth in the region, in addition to ensure the sustainability of forest functions.
