The Training Center for Environment and Forestry (BD LHK) Samarinda in collaboration with GIZ conducted a coordination meeting on Training Programmes on Environment and Forestry on 23 May 2019 in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. The meeting aims to: Sharing information on HR capacity development activities that will be implemented in 2019 by relevant agencies; Identifying proposed capacity building activities that need to be developed by BD LHK Samarinda in 2020. The meeting was attended by representatives from officials and lecturers of the BD LHK Samarinda, the Technical Implementation Unit of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in Samarinda, the East Kalimantan Provincial Forest Service, the Forest Management Units (KPH) in East Kalimantan, the KPH Centre of East Kalimantan Province and GIZ.
Additionally, the implementers presented the results of the Training Needs Identification (IKD) at the KPH Malinau (North Kalimantan) that has been undertaken by the BD LHK Samarinda and GIZ at the end of 2018. Proposed priority trainings from IKD Results in KPH Malinau such as: (a) Forest Inventory; (b) Utilization of Environmental Services; (c) Management of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs); (d) Management of Forest and Land Rehabilitation; (e) Training on forest and land fire control.
At the end of the meeting participants agreed to use the IKD results as a reference for the preparation of the Education and Training Programme Plan for 2020 at BD LHK Samarinda.
