FORCLIME held its Quarterly Management Meeting and Team Building from 21-23 January 2016 in Palu, Central Sulawesi. The meeting was conducted to discuss FORCLIME’s Annual Work Plan (AWP) for 2016 which had been previously coordinated with the programme’s national level focal points from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

Proposed activites include, for instance, sustainable forest management through Forest Management Unit (FMU) development, climate change policies, or cross cutting issues such as gender, conflict resolution and the implementation of Law 23/2014 on provincial and district levels. Also results from a programme progress evaluation conducted last year, and its implication for the programme, were presented during the quarterly meeting.

The final draft of the FORCLIME AWP 2016 will be discussed again during Focus Group Discussions with provincial and national focual points in February 2016, before being endorsed by Planning Bureau (Birocan) of MoEF which functions as the FORCLIME’s Programme Executing Agency.

As FORCLIME is going to expand its activities to Central Sulawesi Province and Sigi District starting in 2016, Palu was chosen as the location for the meeting. This was a great opportunity to meet and discuss with the new Central Sulawesi partners representing the Provincial Forestry Agency, Lore Lindu National Park, the Palu-Poso Watershed Agency, and the Provincial Development Planning Agency.
