As a follow-up to the evaluation of the West Kalimantan REDD+ Working Group (WG) work plan for 2021, the REDD+ WG held a recent meeting in order to discuss its 2022 work plan. The FORCLIME-facilitated meeting was held on 16 December 2021 in Pontianak, West Kalimantan.
The meeting was opened by Mr. Ir. Adiyani, MH, Head of the Environment and Forestry Service of West Kalimantan Province, who made a number of remarks and an offered direction regarding forestry and environmental development within West Kalimantan Province and the importance of synergies between parties in order to achieve the stated development goals, beginning with the harmonization of joint work plans. The meeting was attended by representatives drawn from the provincial government, as well as academics, development partners and NGOs.
The meeting featured a presentation of the REDD+ WG work plan for 2022, which was followed by the submission of activity plans which addressed emissions reductions by each agency. The draft joint work plan will now be compiled and translated into the REDD+ WG work plan for 2022.
